The main sources of the translation were from the websites www.sistani.org and alkafeel.net, however, where necessary, some amendments were made to the translation for clarity or to better represent the Arabic text. What should we cook with?

When Imam Redha peace be upon him was being escorted to Ma'moon in Khurasan (now the holy city of Mashad), and upon arriving in an area called "Sanabath", he said the following: "اللهم أنفع به وبارك فيما يجعل فيه وفيما ينحت منه" "Oh Lord - make this beneficial and bless what is made in it and what is made from it." Imam Redha peace be upon him supplicated for the pots that are carved made for mountains or stones, and considered in Islam as the best  form of material to cook in! Gardasil/Cervarix HPV Vaccination – to jab or not to jab?

[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tLmOgcnCNE[/embedyt] The debate over the use and safety of vaccinations has been raging on for decades but for any one who questions the safety and efficacy of vaccines, they have often been stifled and labelled as unscientific and their information not evidence based.  HPV Vaccination was introduced in 2006 by Merck+Co as a vaccine to fight cervical cancer.  We want to look at the evidence backing its use and the safety profile that the vaccine presents in the literature. Their claim is Gardasil9 “will protect against approximately 90% of cervical cancers”, and the American Cancer Society recommends HPV vaccination for girls ages 11 to 12, although girls as young as 9 may receive the vaccine, and it’s also recommended for girls ages 13 to 18 in order to catch up on missed vaccines or complete the series. Since 2006, […]

The Payable Alms at the End of the Month of Ramadhan – Common Questions Answered

The social implications of the religion of Islam is that wealth must be distributed in a way that no poor remains in the Islamic Ummah.  One of many parts to this system is the Fitriyah, or Zakatul-Fitr that is payable at the end of the Month of Ramandhan by Muslims worldwide to those most in need.  Here are some answers to common questions with regards to this alms. 1. WHO IS OBLIGED TO GIVE: A person, who on the eve of Eid Al Fitr at the time of sunset is baligh (has come of age), and sane, conscious, not poor and not a slave, must pay the alms on their behalf and the behalf of their dependents. The poor:  How a poor person is defined is that one does not have enough money for one year to meet their own […]

Four essential kitchen ingredients you need to change NOW!

In The Name Of The Al-Mighty There is no doubt that there is no way for mankind to reach the cure for all diseases bar with experimentation.  Sheikh Mufeed said: “Medicine is correct, and its science is proven, and its path is revelation, and as for scientists taking it from the prophets, peace be upon them, there is no path to the recognition of the disease in its reality except through hearing, and no path to knowing medicine except through confinement, so it is proven that that path is certainly one of listening to the All Knower of the hidden.” Tashih Al Itiqadaat P144. Yes, there is no rejecting the ability of mankind to add or remove elements of some compound medicines after taking its origins from the prophets and Divine Sciences, except that the modern-day medicine is incapable of […]

How to make healthy Sirkankabeen drink

Often there are questions about what to drink so as to minimise dehydration. One of those drinks that are good for the Month of Ramadhan for this purpose is called Sirkankabeen or Srkinjabeen (سرکنکبین یا سکنجبین) - depending on whether it is made with honey or (brown) sugar respectively. For those of us not lucky enough to be living in the I.R.Iran where these are readily available - you can easily make them at home. How to make: Step 1: Mix the honey and vinegar and add mint to the mixture. Step 2: Place on fire until it becomes a thick consistent texture. Step 3: Boil for 10 minutes. […]

Pledge for a change this Month of Ramadhan

The Month of Ramadhan is coming to an end.  This is an opportunity to reflect and to ensure that we come out of this month a better person.  If you have not already done so, NOW is your chance.  Through the Nights of Qadr and the final stretch of the Holy Month, where we would either be looking forward to it ending or wishing it would go on for ever. This Holy Month crescendos with the Night of Qadr but also the striking of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, the Gates to the City of Knowledge who is known to have said: - Victorious I am, by the Lord of the Holy House, as he was struck by the poisoned sword of the cursed ibn-muljim. It is duly appropriate to learn some lessons from Imam Ali peace be upon […]
